WHY WE CELEBRATE | ENDURING PROMISES

We are happy to be sharing a guest blog post today from Swish List members Enduring Promises!

People have celebrated since the beginning of time many events—with great gusto! From harvest festivals to various holidays, birthdays, coming of age celebrations, and weddings. There is a natural pull in us to celebrate, to rejoice, to soak in the joy!

If we look closely there is a common thread that is connecting these celebratory events, across culture, geography, religious beliefs, and history. It is simply, common human experience, in which we all feel love, sadness, loss, love, hope, success, awe, and joy. A common thread that will continue to drive our need to come together in these times.

When it comes to celebrating, all of us rejoice in the same things, a new baby, a happy relationship, success in ones profession, personal victories, and birthdays! We honour these special moments and we love others to share in them as well, moments of joy.

Those ordinary moments of joy, for most couples, goes from meeting that special someone, to calling your best friend—telling them that you've met the one. Encompassing other moments of joy from the first date, to kiss, to fight, then days upon days spent together laughing, figuring things out together, learning, and loving.

Why are Wedding Celebrations Important?

They symbolize a beginning, a life shared and experienced together, a future of shared victories and burdens, the beginning of a family, the beginning of legacy...

It's significant and a wedding is the point at which you connect all the moments of your life with the future. What hope! We all love to feel hope, even if just for a day.

Weddings have always been important—two people coming together to make their promises to each other; the foundation of marriage. Weddings remind the couple (and all of us) that we hold each other up through all the ups and downs of life, we love, triumph, and keep our promises.

These last 18 months all across the world have highlighted how important these celebrations are for many couples. It's been particularly difficult to plan these celebrations as couples have either opted for smaller celebrations or delayed in favour of the promise of a bigger celebration in the days ahead.

So if you'd like to share your love surrounded by your loved ones, we can help. We work hard to make sure that couples celebrate their way because we know how important it is! For us, it's easy to celebrate these special moments, and we unashamedly admit that as a group of officiants, we show up time and again for each and every couple because we love celebrating LOVE.

We acknowledge that a wedding is a significant moment in your life, and we are honoured to celebrate with you. Each wedding celebration is unique, a collection of your moments that have all of us sharing in the beauty of life. No matter how you choose to celebrate—celebrate you must!

Our goal at Enduring Promises is to help you share your story, to celebrate your love in the way it deserves.
