VENDOR SPOTLIGHT // WAREHOUSE 84
We are chatting with Leslie from Warehouse 84 today! If you're looking for styling and rental services, be sure to go behind the scenes with us and get to know more about all that Warehouse 84 has to offer!
A short description of what you do: We celebrate love, laughter and all things beautiful at Warehouse 84 and are blessed to do what we love; designing beautiful events that bring people together. From luxurious furnishings for cocktail lounges, elegant candle decor for tabletops or stunning florals to complete an event, we have a collection for everyone. We pride ourselves in designing epic events that celebrate our clients and their unique stories.
How long have you been working in the wedding industry? I have been in the wedding industry for over 20 years in various facets starting my career as a freelance floral designer and visual merchandiser to becoming the creator and owner of Warehouse 84.
What makes your business unique? With our large warehouse, we are able to offer our customers everything under one roof, guiding our clients through the design process in a few easy steps. Offering design services, furniture and decor rentals, fresh floral design and day of styling we are able to create a cohesive flow that connects the entire event while bringing our clients vision to fruition.
Favourite part of your business? Designing and building new props or accent decor for our clients as most of our builds are done in house. I love a good challenge and I am always happy to trade in my high heels for a pair of work boots and a chop saw to build something new.
What inspires you? Architecture and nature are my go-to for inspiration. I love stepping back in time to rediscover and refresh design ideas and then blend them with the amazing combinations that nature provides in colours, textures, and shapes. Having a background in Horticulture is also a plus as my gardens become my inspiration.
On your day off...where would we find you? A day off can be a cup of coffee on the deck overlooking our country property and an afternoon spent outdoors with my husband and daughter or if I'm lucky to have a few days off I will be in the mountains of BC recharging my battery with family and friends.
If you weren't a wedding vendor, what would be your dream job? I would flip houses and be a general contractor or project manager.
What great wedding trends are you seeing this year? I think the trend is becoming more about celebrating each couple rather than fitting into a style category. The time has come that there are no rules, it's about being true to who you are as a couple and that's what we love being a part of.
Do you have any practical advice for couples planning a wedding? Regardless of how many people are coming or how many family or outside influences you have, be sure that your day is designed for you and celebrates your story and your style as a couple. Focus your attention on what is most important to you throughout your day as each couple is different and be sure to set aside a moment of quiet time just for you and your partner so that you can step back and appreciate all that you have.
