There’s a whole lotta pretty happening here on the blog today as we chat with the lovely and talented Jennifer of Simply Stunning!
A short description of what you do: Simply Stunning offers mobile hair and makeup services for parties of any size. Specializing in bridal services, but also for any occasion when you want to treat yourself and get glammed up! We also have a studio where we offer everyday haircuts, colouring, makeup lessons, eyelash extensions, you name it! Simply Stunning is a full service salon.
How long have you been working in the wedding industry? 7+ years
Favourite part of your business? I truly love meeting new people on a regular basis. I have been lucky enough to meet and work with people from all over the world. I can't describe the feeling I get when I see people's reaction to their hair and makeup. When I see them light up with beauty and confidence, it always reassures me that I chose the right career. I will never tire of that feeling.
On your day off...where would we find you? With my family, enjoying all the great things the Niagara Region has to offer. Wine and beer tours seem to be me and my husbands Sunday hobby. We love to spend time outdoors together and watch our daughter explore everything this beautiful area has to offer!
If you weren't a wedding vendor, what would be your dream job? Something in the food industry- a baker maybe? If I am having an off day, or feeling stressed, other than working out, baking oddly enough makes me feel calm and relaxed. It must be the creative side in me that naturally enjoys it!
What great wedding trends are you seeing this year? Romantic, loose, natural styles are everywhere right now. And braids, I don't think I've done this many braided hairstyles since I was in hair school! It adds such a nice texture to any hairstyle and they are so fun to do!
Do you have any practical advice for couples planning a wedding? At the end of the day, try not to lose sight of what really matters, the marriage! That is what this day is all about and it's easy to get lost in all of the wedding hype. Stay grounded and true to yourself during the planning process and everything will turn out perfectly!
