VENDOR SPOTLIGHT // LOVE ALWAYS PHOTOGRAPHY
Today we are going behind the scenes with Sarah and Justin of Love Always Photography! Sarah and Justin are long time Swish List Members and friends. Sarah is also our Administrative Specialist here at Vineyard Bride, helping to manage social media and emails. Together they are documenting life and love in the Niagara Region and GTA with a unique ‘his’ and ‘her’ approach. Read on to learn about this awesome couple.
A short description of what you do:
We are a husband and wife photography team documenting life and love in Niagara and the GTA. We work together, taking turns photographing and leading the day in a way that best allows both of our strengths and creativity to shine.
This means our clients get a diverse portfolio of images made up of both the important traditional imagery and creative images that will tell your entire wedding day story. It's much more than just a second angle!
How long have you been working in the wedding industry? Eight years.
What makes your business unique?
We each bring our own style to the day and your images. Sarah brings a light and airy approach while Justin captures a more dark and contrasty image. This allows our clients to receive a variety of images to suit a ‘his’ and ‘hers’ perspective.
Favourite part of your business?
We really enjoy getting to meet other couples and being invited into their planning and the story of their relationship and wedding day. We also love the incredible vendors we get to work alongside. The Niagara vendor community is so close knit and truly loves working together.
What inspires you?
When documenting weddings and portraits we are inspired by our surroundings, and the light. We like to look for an angle or backdrop at a venue that others haven’t already photographed. We always seek out the best light to create clean and sharp portraits. We also find creative inspiration by listening to podcasts and flipping through the pages of our favourite photographers work.
Who is your mentor/hero in the industry?
We are fortunate to have many great mentors in our industry that we have been able to work closely with and are still able to go to with questions. We also enjoy learning and networking with other vendors and entrepreneurs in our area through networking meet ups such as Tuesday’s Together and Event Professionals of Niagara.
On your day off...where would we find you?
We typically spend our time off at home and with our families. We have three young nieces that we adore spending time with. We enjoy film photography as our own creative outlet and often go out for a drive at sunrise and sunset to photograph whatever we find that inspires us.
If you weren't a wedding vendor, what would be your dream job?
If we weren’t apart of the wedding industry we like to think we would still be doing photography work. We have always been fascinated with travel photography, and would love the opportunity to travel the world documenting landscapes, famous landmarks and various cultures.
What great wedding trends are you seeing this year?
This season is obviously looking much different with the arrival of this pandemic. I think the most important thing bride and grooms can learn from this year will be the beauty of a small and intimate event. I think it will remind couples of whats truly important and put the emphasis back on the emotion and family connections. We hope it will allow brides and grooms to add more time to their day for mingling and making memories with their guests.
Do you have any practical advice for couples planning a wedding?
Whether you are planning during a pandemic or not it is important to remember not to sweat the small stuff. Once the day arrives just focus on being present and enjoying every moment. If something doesn’t go according to plan chances are you will be the only one to know. It’s not worth running around and stressing over. Always add some time into your wedding day timeline for just the two of you. Take a moment to be together and reflect on the importance of the day because it really does go by too quickly.
