VENDOR SPOTLIGHT // ALLURE HAIR + MAKEUP
Today’s Vendor Spotlight is with longtime Swish List member Allure Hair & Makeup! We are so thankful for their loyalty, kindness, professionalism, and, continual level of quality in their services!
A short description of what you do: We specialize in mobile hair and makeup for weddings and special events.
How long have you been working in the wedding industry? This year is our TENTH wedding season!
What makes your business unique? We are a team of stylists and makeup artists who bring the salon to you to focus solely on your beauty needs. Because we have been around for 10 seasons, we've been apart of so many wedding days and gone thru so many trends- you can be confident that we will be able to handle anything!
Favourite part of your business? Being a part of the biggest day in someones life! Feeling the excitement, watching the fun, brunch, champagne, friends, family, hair, makeup...need I say more?!
What inspires you? With respect to beauty inspiration, I love seeing what fellow stylists are up to. Social media has a way of connecting us and offering endless inspiration through pictures and videos. From a more personal standpoint, meeting all of our brides and their squads, meeting people from all walks of life and not only being trusted, but playing a role in their special day is inspiring to me.
Who is your mentor/hero in the industry? (your own industry or the Niagara wedding industry) The person I look up to the most in my industry would be Stephanie Brinkerhoff (hairandmakeupbysteph). Not only does she do amazing hair and makeup, she shares her knowledge with those around her...all while raising 3 kids. I was fortunate enough to meet and study under her in NYC. She inspires me everyday!
On your day off...where would we find you? At home! I am definitely a homebody who rarely leaves. In my salon, family and pets - I can't imagine a place I'd rather be! Maybe the beach, once in a while ;)
If you weren't a wedding vendor, what would be your dream job? Travel blogger! Someone who gets paid to travel, see the world and try the food - is that a thing?
What great wedding trends are you seeing this year? How do I describe this...undone beauty? From hand tied bouquets to simple outdoor ceremonies to soft and understated hair and makeup - I love the natural look of enhancing the beauty that's already there!
Do you have any practical advice for couples planning a wedding? Planners are a huge help...delegate as many tasks as you can...stop and enjoy the planning process (champagne helps!) and don't just rush through it. Focus on the relationship - not the day.
