How long have you been working in the wedding industry? Over seven years.
What makes your business unique? My business is anchored by my artistic background and experience in both painting and graphic design. I'm able to create or change any aspect of a design to perfectly fit a couple's vision or theme! And with one-on-one attention, I create a very tailored and personal interaction.
Favourite part of your business? My favourite part is seeing the invitations printed and "in real life"! I love painting and designing paper goods, so to see the vision come to life in a tactile way is so special, and makes it feel real.
What inspires you? Many things inspire me, but nature undoubtedly holds a special place at the forefront. The beauty crafted by Mother Nature serves as my guiding muse, as I aspire to capture that essence while infusing my own delicate and intricate style. Vintage and nostalgic items are another strong influence, whether it's antique items or the detail and ornate features that were designed and appreciated 'back in the day'. It's what surrounds me in my home and studio, and fuels my imagination, lending timeless charm to my designs.
On your day off...where would we find you? On my day of you could find me doing a number of things — I have lots of hobbies and interests! I may be scouring an antique market or thrift store, hiking in the woods with my husband, gardening in my backyard or enjoying my screened-in porch, or crafting in any form of sewing, embroidery, knitting, macrame, etc.
If you weren't a wedding vendor, what would be your dream job? I'm an artist first and foremost, so I was always meant to be in a creative field! In addition to weddings, I do also work with clients for illustration jobs, so together this is my dream job.
What great wedding trends are you seeing this year? Outdoor weddings (in the forest), and colour! I see couples choosing more bold colour palettes, which is always fun and exciting.
Do you have any practical advice for couples planning a wedding? Try to enjoy the process, even when it seems overwhelming or frustrating. This only happens once, and you get to choose what you want, so stay true to your heart!
