PARK HYATT WEDDING IN TORONTO // F10 STUDIO

Classic white floral design, accents of gold — the bride’s favourite colour — throughout, an intimate celebration with just 54 of their loved ones in attendance, and deciding to hold their reception in the same venue they were engaged in, Uche and Anthony’s wedding had all the makings of a timeless, meaningful and heartfelt celebration, all core aspects of what a wedding day should be.

Where are you both from? We are both Nigerian-Canadian.

Do you mind sharing a bit of your love story and how you started your journey together? We were introduced by a mutual friend, our first date sparked captivating conversations that lingered for hours. However we didn’t live in the same city but despite the distance, we stayed connected and I visited a month later. The rest, as they say, is history.

What was your vision for your wedding day? Our vision was a small, intimate celebration of 54 guests. A perfect reunion and an opportunity to celebrate with family and friends from across the world. We aimed for an engaging and intimate experience, ensuring each guest had their special moment.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme or colour scheme? Uche: We wanted something classy and timeless so we went with white and gold. P.S. My favourite colour is gold so it had to be incorporated.

Can you describe the wedding ceremony and any special traditions or rituals you included? We wanted a Catholic Church ceremony that reflected our family faith and values and it was perfect and filled with Latin hymns. Aside from that, we wanted to make sure the day was well documented. Hence, we had a Photo book with a Polaroid to take a photo with every guest, cherishing everyone’s presence and having that memory with us forever.

What were your favourite moments from your wedding day? Uche: My favourite moment was definitely when my husband surprised me, by singing “Justin Timberlake's Mirror." Watching him sing while guests joined in was unexpectedly beautiful.

Can you describe your wedding dress and suit? How did you choose your wedding attire? Uche: We just went for something we loved and felt comfortable. I had to change my dress twice within a month to my wedding. My husband on the other hand had a clear vision for his suit, and it was perfectly brought to life by his designer.

How did you choose your wedding venue? What made it special to you? The venue was special because we got engaged in the adjacent writer’s room bar in the same hotel. The venue was also easily accessible to all our guests which was very important to us

What did you look forward to the most on your wedding day? We looked forward to forever together, exchanging vows, dancing with parents, celebrating with family & friends and witnessing our planning efforts come to fruition.
