Anytime we receive an editorial love story captured by the brilliant mind of Lisa Vigliotta Photography, we know it’s going to be a special work of art worth sharing with our lovely readers!

The monochromatic nature of the colour palette gave us a dreamy landscape to play within. We mixed gauzy linens, cotton paper (I believe it was cotton paper), and glass that shimmered and shone under the sunlight. The goal was to emulate the Coast of Corfu in the lines and atmosphere of each photograph, even though we were in the northwest countryside of Ontario, Canada.

We created a love story behind these images to bring to life the sweepingly romantic ambiance found in every detail of this shoot. With COVID limiting travel options for fine art couples with wanderlust, we strived to inspire with Mediterranean aesthetic, locally. Our creative team creates lush backstories for our editorials so that as we design each element, and execute styling on the day, we think about how we would create for a real couple. We strive to flip the editorial world on its head, by capturing story-driven design.

Our World On Fire's backstory: Helena and Atticus were best friends and childhood sweethearts, but an unholy war took him away from her for three unending years. Alexander the Great had fallen, and their Empire was now crumbling in the first of the many resulting civil wars. With the mounting silence of every passing year, Helena feared Atticus had died, but could never allow her heart to love another. With the war now over, Atticus has written Helena to let her know he’s still alive, that a two-day’s ride is all that separates him from her and that he wants her hands in marriage. If she says "yes" she’ll be waiting for him among the pillars they played at as children. Their first look is the first time they’ve seen each other in three years. He went to war a boy and came back a man. We wanted to achieve the classic Grecian look with a modern flavour. Feather and Pearl helped us strike the perfect balance for both the bridal and bridesmaid's look.

The details in the flat lay, on the table, and throughout the shoot were an amalgamation of personal heirlooms from the creative team, vintage rentals, and handmade bridal accessories. Blair Nadeau Bridal Adornments specifically designed items, like the bride's wedding day crown, especially for this shoot, and hand-made each piece to fit our storyline's overall aesthetics. Our tablescape featured cotton paper, gauzy napkins and table runners, and romantic vintage brash bud vases and tapered candle holders.
