A short description of what you do: We are Freebird Beauty Co. and have a deep passion for all things beauty! We offer on-site hair & makeup services and specialize in bridal parties. We love getting you all glammed up and feeling extra beautiful got your big day! We're known for helping to ease the wedding day jitters too! There is something magical that happens when you have the ability to make others feel confident, strong and beautiful. And in return, we are gifted with feeling inspired and empowered by working with so many amazing people for their most cherished moments.
How long have you been working in the wedding industry? We have a combined experience of 15 years!
What makes your business unique? We strive to make each of our brides' experiences unique to them. We tailor their hair & makeup look to compliment their overall wedding vibe and dress! We also walk our brides through the whole process to make it as stress-free and fun as we can. We educate our brides by giving them helpful tips and tricks to create their perfect bridal look. At hair & makeup trials, we offer different options and take photos to send to the bride afterwards so she can look through them to see what she likes or to show family/friends etc.
Favourite part of your business? We absolutely LOVE being a part of our brides' wedding mornings - we love the happy energy and the fact that everyone is in the mood to celebrate! We also LOVE reading reviews from our brides and also seeing their wedding photos too!
What inspires you? The name Freebird Beauty stems from our love of natural beauty. We often look to nature as our colour palette and hair inspiration. We feel particularly drawn to and inspired by more natural looks. Enhancing your natural beauty and drawing out your inner glow is our absolute favourite. Our goal is to have you looking and feeling like you, with just a pop of colour here and there! Your true beauty is what we aim to have shine for your special occasion.
Who is your mentor/hero in the industry? I don't think we necessarily have a hero or mentor, but we love collaborating with like-minded creative people who have a passion for the wedding industry. We get to work with some really cool people!
On your day off...where would we find you? Lindsey would be cooking up a delicious meal, cuddling or walking with her dog, or watching Friends! Candice would be drinking coffee, baking or running after her two little ones!
If you weren't a wedding vendor, what would be your dream job? We are already in our dream job! BUT if we had to choose, Candice would open up a gluten-free bakery and Lindsey would create her own makeup line!
What great wedding trends are you seeing this year? We're seeing glam wave hairstyles pinned on one side, pearl hair clips and cathedral veils. We're also seeing dewy, summery, bronzy and romantic makeup looks!
Do you have any practical advice for couples planning a wedding? Our advice is to book your vendors based on referrals and reviews! Ask your vendors if they have recommendations for other creatives who they have worked with in the past. Do your research and ask lots of questions! Ask your vendors what advice they would give based on the services they offer. Read the fine print in your contracts! Happy Planning! :)
