what to consider when researching a wedding venue

When researching a venue, find out what exactly is included in the package or venue rental and what may be at an extra cost - is bar staffing included? What is the gratuity or service fee and what items will that get billed on? Do the beautiful chairs or string lights hung up in the space that is shown in all of the venue's photos come with the rental or are those available only as an upgrade?

how far in advance to book a wedding venue

If you have a preferred wedding date, we recommend beginning your venue search 1-1.5 years in advance, however if you are more flexible on the date of your Special Day then there are usually a few select dates still available! Typically if you are booking under a year from your wedding date, you can negotiate additional savings.

what to bring to a wedding venue consultation

We recommend you bring a notebook and pen and a list of any questions you have about the venue or the package to ensure you can ask all that you need to during your personal consultation. We also recommend having a general idea of your wedding budget and what you hope to allot for venue, food, and beverages.

how to budget for your wedding venue

Tradition states that approximately 40-50% of your wedding budget can expect to be allocated to your venue, food, and beverages. To maximize your budget, consider a Friday or date that falls in an off-peak month, a heavy canapés reception instead of a sit down meal, or a beautiful wedding brunch or luncheon.
