This week's vendor spotlight is on Allure Hair and Makeup. A talented team of hair stylists and makeup artists that will travel to you on the morning of your wedding-they come to you in the comfort of your hotel or home. Avoid the rain, wind and over-booked salons and leave the travelling to Allure.
What makes your business unique? We have our own brand of hypo allergenic makeup all made in Canada. Our makeup uses only the highest standards of ingredients and pigments and is paraben free, fragrance free and not tested on animals.
How long have you been working in the wedding industry? Hair Industry- 13 years/ Wedding Industry- 7 years
Favourite part of your business? Meeting so many women, from all walks in life, during the happiest time of their lives and getting to share in their big day by bringing out their inner beauty by making them feel confident in themselves.
What inspires you? Anyone who is unapologetically living out their passion, however that may look. It is the most beautiful and inspiring thing to watch someone come alive and be the best version of themselves.
Who is your mentor/hero in the industry? In this day in age, we have so much inspiration at our finger tips. I spend lots of time creeping inspiring artists on instagram, pinterest and even YouTube. Seriously, I spend an insane amount of hours just watching others in their element. And also, anyone who can figure out the work/life balance as a business owner with kids is a hero in my eyes!
On your day off...where would we find you?
At home with my kids!
If you weren't a wedding vendor, what would be your dream job? I honestly feel like I wouldn't chose to do anything else. I have the best of both worlds. I get to be a part of a bride's special day, but I'm also a hairstylist for the day to day maintenance of hair with some of the best women on the planet. I can't imagine a better job than learning from these people as I get to play with their hair! Unless I could get paid to travel and eat. Then I'd choose that.
What great wedding trends are you seeing this year? For makeup, I'm loving the attention on flawless glowing skin. For hairstyling, nothing gets my heart going faster than touchable curls with a beautiful floral crown.
Do you have any practical advice for couples planning a wedding? Focus on the marriage, not the wedding! It sounds so cliche, but that's my best advice. Don't get caught up in the details of that one day and making it perfect. Focus on choosing your best friend and partner to do life with. The rest will fall into place :)
