KURTZ ORCHARDS WEDDING IN NIAGARA-ON-THE-LAKE // AMANDA COWLEY PLANNING AND DESIGN

For Caity and Steph, deciding to host their Kurtz Orchards wedding in Niagara-on-the-Lake couldn’t have been an easier decision. With a personal connection to the area, it was a simple choice to celebrate with their loved ones in the heart of wine country. The vineyards of Kurtz Orchards were the perfect backdrop for a day overflowing with the loveliest personal touches, and so much love. This quintessentially Niagara wedding venue is a stunning backdrop for a love story. Located along the Niagara River Parkway, there isn't a more beautiful place to host a special day with close friends, complete with beautiful views of the fruit trees and vines. From the emotional moments of their first look to cocktail hour, the best day was made possible with an incredible team of wedding vendors who came to gather to create one of the most esthetically pleasing events we’ve featured!

“Our day was magic, and it felt like us, and we couldn’t have asked for anything better.”

From planner, Amanda Cowley — What's better than the glow of one bride? Two brides! Caity and Steph's wedding day felt like the ultimate girls' night and the girls weren't even my girls, however, I was undeniably a part of the crew by the end of the night.

The energy was empowering and positive and girly, so many effortless moments came together due to the power of a collective female effort from our vendor team to the bridesmaids and mostly, due to our beautiful brides. Every detail. Every decision. Many times throughout our planning journey I told Caity I would hire her if I could convince her to quit her job as a Pediatrician and work for me. I'm sure there would be a slight pay decrease, but she is a planner in her bones and the joy I felt from her with every plan made was food for my soul; a girl after my own heart. Knowing that she is notorious among her friends + family (which was mentioned several times throughout the speeches) as the master planner of the group and that she chose me to help execute the day for her and Steph, cracked open a new level of pride for me and my role on a wedding day. 'Euphoria' was the word of the day and it caught in my throat and the corners of my eyes every time Steph paused to soak in the moment and breathe it out loud.

To get to be a part of a day that feels like paradise to my clients and absorb that energy from them all day: what a perk of the job. It was a dream to celebrate the love Caity + Steph so passionately share. They are soul mates, best friends, cheerleaders, and keepers of one another's hearts.

"You are incredible, you are undeniable, you are home."

"I'm sure my spirit has loved you in lifetimes before, but this is my favourite."

This is what it's about. This is love, and I am here for it.

From brides, Caity and Steph — “Niagara on the Lake has always been a special place for us as a couple, so there was no question that we wanted to say our vows in front of our closest friends and family in the heart of Southern Ontario.

Kurtz was the first, and only, place we looked at as we planned our big day. We immediately felt at home the moment we stepped into the Marketplace building. Filled with rustic elegance and charm, the Marketplace was nestled against a backdrop of endless greenery and lush vineyards that became the perfect setting for our wedding—not to mention the breathtaking bridge overlooking the water.

Our day was magic, and it felt like us, and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. From personalized letters written to our guests, to custom cocktails representing our pup and ending the night singing the lyrics to “I kissed a girl” on the dance floor with our best friends, our wedding followed no conventions, but rather simply reflected who we are, Steph and Caity. We surrounded ourselves with a team of badass (can we say that on a blog post?) female vendors that just understood our vision and brought it all to life even better than we could have ever imagined.

When we first started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted it to be fun and feminine, but were nervous we wouldn’t be able to picture ourselves based on available wedding content. Visibility is so important, and we were delighted to find wonderful blogs and vendor posts featuring inclusive content that allowed us to picture ourselves, two brides, saying “I do”. If you ask us, two brides are better than one!”
