CALAMUS WINERY WEDDING // PHILOSOPHY STUDIOS

Sara and Ian's love story began in the most unexpected of places, halfway across the globe from the scenic vineyards of Niagara. Both venturing abroad for work, their paths crossed, intertwining their lives in a beautiful tapestry of love, adventure, and shared dreams. It was their mutual appreciation for nature, cultural experiences, and, notably, their love for fine wine that drew them closer, making the idea of a vineyard wedding resonate deeply with both. Deciding on Calamus Winery for their special day seemed almost serendipitous; it encapsulated everything they cherished individually and as a couple. With friends and family excitedly agreeing to make the journey to Niagara, Sara and Ian's wedding at Calamus Winery is set to be a beautiful celebration of their unique romance, echoing the adventurous spirit with which they met.

If you're a wine enthusiast or looking for a unique outdoor wedding experience, read on. We have just the inspiration for you – a Calamus Winery Wedding! Tucked away in Jordan, Ontario along the picturesque Niagara Escarpment, this stunning winery offers an unforgettable backdrop for saying "I do".

How long had you and your partner been together prior to your wedding? We had been together for 8 years!

How did you feel the morning of your wedding? Quite anxious which is normal for me, but also excited that we finally made it to the day after needing to move our wedding date due to COVID.

What drew you to your venue? It felt very "Canadian" with the vineyards, lawn games, barn-style. My husband is from England, and his family and friends were coming from England, so it seemed perfect.

What inspired your colour scheme? I originally wanted blush pink bridesmaids dressings, but felt the colour just wasnt working, so we went with a wine red which I thought was beautiful. I have always loved navy so that was a no brainer. We changed the runners last minute from a wine red to beige, and I'm glad we did. Popped nicely against the wood tables.

Were your florals exactly how you imagined them? They were. Kelly from ooh lala designs did a fantastic job.

Did you incorporate any personal accents into your day? (if so, what and why?) Not quite an "accent" but I surprised my husband with an orchestra. We both classical music and this was the perfect touch for us.
