ELLE BY STELLA WEDDING IN ST. JACOB’S ONTARIO // F10 STUDIO
Spring weddings have a unique charm, breathing life and rejuvenation into every detail, and Keia and Michael's celebration was the epitome of this seasonal magic. Set against the blossoming backdrop of a spring day, their wedding was a picturesque scene straight out of a fairy tale. The bride, Keia, radiant in a classic silk gown, floated down the aisle in an outdoor ceremony that was both intimate and grand, surrounded by the love of family and friends. The carefully selected palette of white and blue florals — a nod to the groom’s favourite colour — and décor added a serene yet vibrant atmosphere to the occasion.
Where are you from? Michael is Nigerian and Keia is Canadian with a Bajan and American background.
Do you mind sharing a bit of your love story and how you started your journey together? We met on Instagram through a mutual friend. Our mutual friend posted me (Keia) on their Instagram story and Michael was interested. Michael DM’d me and the rest is history.
What was your vision for your wedding day? An intimate summer, garden wedding to enjoy our special day with our closest family and friends.
What was the inspiration behind your wedding theme or colour scheme? Keia: I have always dreamed of having an outdoor garden ceremony and Michael’s favourite colour is blue, so we wanted to incorporate both.
Can you describe the wedding ceremony and any special traditions or rituals you included? Keia: Our Christian ceremony was officiated by our pastor and I walked down the aisle with my dad and stepdad who raised me to honour both of them. We shared our first-ever kiss at the altar.
What were your favourite moments from your wedding day? Our very first kiss, celebrating with our family who came in from all over the world, being able to celebrate with three of our grandmothers, as one of them passed shortly after the wedding, and the perfect weather.
Can you describe your wedding dress and suit? How did you choose your wedding attire? Keia: My dress is a Justin Alexander, mikado silk a-line gown with a built-in bustle to transition from a ceremony train to a reception dress. I have always dreamed of a timeless and classic silk gown. I wanted to wear my dress, not my dress to wear me.
How did you choose your wedding venue? What made it special to you? Our venue is in a town close to the city I grew up in and it provided the space for an outdoor intimate ceremony that was far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
What did you look forward to the most on your wedding day? Our first kiss and the beginning of our journey of life together.
