VENDOR SPOTLIGHT // EVER IN BLOOM
Beyond your memories and photographs, there aren’t many take-aways from a wedding or event that can be reminisced on in a tangible way, so we are thrilled to have Ever In Bloom as part of our Swish List and as a way for couples to carry a part of their wedding with them through the years.
A short description of what you do: My name is Madina and I am the owner of Ever In Bloom - Niagara's first and only modern bouquet preservation studio! A wedding bouquet holds so many special memories and I help brides capture that forever by encasing their blooms in clear resin. This modern take on flower preservation is everlasting and allows the blooms to retain their fresh look forever.
How long have you been working in the wedding industry? 1.5 years.
What makes your business unique? My method of drying and casting the flowers is unique because it is a modern twist on the traditional ways of preserving your bouquets - such as air drying or pressing flowers. The traditional methods cause the flowers to change their shape and color to a more vintage look - which is beautiful too! But if you're looking for a more fresh, modern final look, then my services are for you!
Favourite part of your business? My favorite part, hands down, is holding the bouquet. I don't care how corny it sounds, I feel a special energy coming off bridal bouquets when I hold them and it always makes me smile! Flowers are living organisms after all and I truly believe they store energy and have the power to change our mood.
What inspires you? ME! My past. Where I came from and how hard it was to see a bright future at one point in my life. I'm forever inspired by the realization that everything really is and always was in my hands.
Who is your mentor/hero in the industry? I really can't pick one person because I am constantly in awe of the local vendors and how much talent resides in Niagara - but especially female entrepreneurs who are balancing their children, work, and home life. This became even more evident during the pandemic. Boss babes are my heroes.
On your day off...where would we find you? No days off over here. Aside from Ever In Bloom, I own a luxury balloon business in Niagara called Ever Events. I also work full-time in a law office and study part-time at Brock. All my spare time is spent with my awesome 12-year-old son, who is my biggest supporter.
If you weren't a wedding vendor, what would be your dream job? I don't have a specific dream job, but rather a dream field - business ownership. I dream of growing my businesses and stepping into new ventures - whatever they may be. This is worlds away from my plans just a short year and a half ago before I launched my first business venture. Back then, I was at university full time, hoping to apply to law school when my son got older. Now I can't imagine working a 9 to 5 forever!
What great wedding trends are you seeing this year? I'm enjoying the smaller weddings this season. I think big weddings inevitably come with having to invite people you don't want to invite and a lot of brides say they feel like they missed out on their day because there was so much going on. I think small weddings allow for a more relaxed, intimate experience and I hope this trend continues past the pandemic.
