It’s always inspiring when we can spend some time getting to know the ladies of Sash + Bustle and today we’re chatting with Andrea — the guru of all things wedding gowns, accessories, and bridal beauty!
A short description of what you do: I'm co-owner of Sash & Bustle and wear many hats. As the head of marketing I take on all creative direction for the S&B brand. From planning our instagram strategy, engaging with our community to buying new stock and employee relations.
How long have you been working in the wedding industry? 7 years
What makes your business unique? Sash & Bustle is a modern bridal boutique that caters to every bride who is seeking a special and memorable experience. Most of our bridal collection is exclusive to us in the GTA and in some cases in all of Canada! Our highly curated collection of modern bridal gowns accompanied with our friendly approachable nature creates an ease for anyone who shops with us. We are a safe space and are body positive and love to celebrate with all who visit us.
Favourite part of your business? I love so much about my business. Some of the most special moments are when I’m helping brides find their dress and seeing them light up in a gown! I love helping women feel beautiful and special for their wedding day. Especially when a bride finds something that she didn't expect she would love, thats when magic can happen! Also, traveling to NYC and Barcelona Bridal Markets to shop all the new bridal collections is always a highlight!
What inspires you? Love!!!
Who is your mentor/hero in the industry? Hayley Paige! I absolutely love her energy, her positivity, her sense of humour and not to mention her bridal gowns are a total DREAM!!!
On your day off...where would we find you? Hanging out with my 2 year old Son, Archer. We love going to the beach, walking the dog and playing in our blow up pool in the backyard.
If you weren't a wedding vendor, what would be your dream job? A fashion designer. I love how fashion design fuses aesthetics into function.
What great wedding trends are you seeing this year? From dramatic sleeves to extended trains our brides are loving all the drama!
Do you have any practical advice for couples planning a wedding? It can be so easy to get caught up in the design of the wedding and I get it! It can be so fun choosing all the pretty things. To not get lost in it all, always remember your Why! Why are you getting married, Why do you want to make this next step in your life? Reminding yourself of your why can help you stay on track and make decisions that matter.
