VENDOR SPOTLIGHT // MORNING LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY
It’s always a pleasure to get to know our Swish List members a little more, and today we’re spending some time with Kevin + Victoria of Morning Light Photography!
A short description of what you do: We are Kevin and Victoria, a husband and wife team, and have one associate photographer. We want to make our couples look and feel amazing in their wedding photos. There are so many moving pieces going on throughout their wedding day and we love documenting all of the special behind the scenes moments that they may not see on the day of, but will love to have when they look through their wedding album for years to come.
How long have you been working in the wedding industry? This is our 5th year in business.
What makes your business unique? What makes Morning Light unique is that we are so passionate about getting to know our couples and helping them feel at ease so that their photos look stunning.
Favourite part of your business? Our favourite part of our business is getting to know our couples and seeing how excited they are for their wedding day. From the initial meet and greet to the engagement session, you can see the excitement building for the wedding day. Finally, the day comes, and it is so beautiful to see everything they dreamed of and worked so hard towards all come to life. We get to document all of that for them to look back on for the rest of their lives. That is pretty cool if you ask us.
What inspires you? We draw inspiration from all over the place. At the end of the day, we love seeing when businesses genuinely care for people and do what they do really well. We are always seeking to learn more about how we can better serve our couples, and deliver an even better experience on the wedding day.
Who is your mentor/hero in the industry? We love learning and are so fortunate to be able to go through one of our favourite photographer's KT Merry's Abundance Plan. It has been so much fun to learn from one of the best in the wedding photography industry.
On your day off...where would we find you? You can find us at a coffee shop hanging out with our friends, or with our families since they're both super important to us.
If you weren't a wedding vendor, what would be your dream job? If Kevin wasn't a wedding vendor, he would 100% be a musician since music is a huge passion of his. If Victoria wasn't a wedding vendor she would work in a field that is able to help people since she loves helping people succeed.
What great wedding trends are you seeing this year? We have been seeing a lot more of our couples going back to getting wedding albums, and printed photos. When you receive a link to your gallery with 600+ images, you may not know what to do with the photos. It can be super overwhelming and as a result, you probably won't do anything with them. It's been cool to see our clients come back and say they want to be able to physically hold their photos. This way when they go through them, they can feel all the joy they felt on their wedding day.
Do you have any practical advice for couples planning a wedding? If there is anything special or unique in your relationship with your fiancee, bring that into your wedding day. If you have an old car that you two love, bring that along for photos. If there's a place you love going for walks, or for a drink, let's go there for photos. It's your day. We are there to document it.
